LAN Security Cameras

A network fit for purpose

In order to meet the demands of real-time high-definition video streaming it is sometimes necessary to build a separate network. The bandwidth required between cameras, network video recorders and the main security workstations often exceed the demands of a network not specifically designed for this purpose.

ATEC design and implement dedicated security Local area networks (LANs) using managed layer 2 and layer 3 switches.

RESILIENCE

When the network is mission critical it makes sense to build in resilience using redundant paths that automatically become available when the main transmission route fails. We use protocols that are designed to manage this such as rapid spanning tree which prevent network loops.

INDUSTRIAL NETWORKING

ATEC have a range of switches suitable for use in harsh environments such as extreme temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees centigrade.

FULL NETWORK MANAGEMENT

We use tools that allow us to manage a customer’s security network, with graphical displays of bandwidth usage, ping time and other indicators of network performance, ensuring maximum performance and availability.

Multicasting

Multicasting helps us get the most from limited bandwidth by ensuring that a video stream from a camera can be shared between users without being transmitted multiple times. This introduces complexity into networks but properly implemented dramatically improves performance.
