Video surveillance systems consist of image collection, transmission, recording and visualisation, and every one of these aspects has been revolutionised by technology, reducing costs and increased capability. The industry has become commoditised with the perception that installing video surveillance consists of merely fixing a camera to a wall, in fact a small part of an effective solution.
Our video surveillance solutions are underpinned by the OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS model. Developed by the Police Scientific Development Branch over 20 years ago this approach puts the users need at the heart of any design.
Our understanding and use of this model have evolved, as we have helped to improve it, working closely and advising with the Home Office, the BSIA and the Surveillance Camera Commissioner.
Through our engagement process we help our clients to build an understanding of the role of their surveillance system across the different areas of their estate, and to document this operational requirement before moving on to design.
Only then can we select the most appropriate camera resolutions and lenses, design appropriate mounting, power and transmission, and determine how those images should be recorded and displayed, meeting the users need, ensuring compliance and working within the constraints of their environment.
